Terms & Conditions

1. Overview

These Terms & Conditions govern all purchases made from Insignis Leathers (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order, you agree to these terms. We operate as a UK-based business, and all contracts are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. Products

Each item is made in small batches or to order. Due to the nature of leather and handmade production, natural variations in colour, grain, and texture will occur. Minor variations between pieces are not defects, and product images are representative, not exact.

3. Orders

An order is confirmed once payment has been received. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where necessary, and to correct errors in pricing or product information. If an order is cancelled by us, a full refund will be issued.

4. Pricing

All prices are listed in GBP (£). We reserve the right to update prices at any time. The price at the time of purchase is the price you will be charged.

5. Lead Times & Delivery

Estimated lead times will be provided at the point of purchase. These are guidelines, not guarantees. Delays may occur due to production requirements, material availability, or unforeseen circumstances. We will communicate any significant delays where possible.

6. Delivery

Orders will be shipped to the address provided at checkout. Once dispatched, delivery is handled by a third-party courier and we are not responsible for delays caused by the courier. Risk passes to the customer upon delivery.

7. Returns & Cancellations

For standard (non-custom) items, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused and returned in original condition. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty. Custom or personalised items are non-refundable and non-returnable unless faulty.

8. Faults & Issues

If your item arrives faulty or develops a fault within a reasonable period, please contact us promptly. We will assess and offer repair, replacement, or refund where appropriate. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

9. Use & Care

Our products are designed for long-term use, but proper care is required. We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, neglect, or exposure to excessive moisture or heat. Leather is a natural material and will change over time.

10. Intellectual Property

All designs, products, and content produced by Insignis Leathers remain our intellectual property. They may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without prior written consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

We are responsible for ensuring that products are as described and of satisfactory quality. Our liability is limited to the value of the order placed. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses or loss of business or opportunity.

12. Privacy

We collect and process customer data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in place at the time of your order will apply.

Ownership Milestone Programme

The Ownership Milestone Programme (the Programme) is available to clients who hold an original Insignis provenance record issued at the point of commission. Eligibility is personal to the original client and is not transferable.

Tiers

The Programme operates across four tiers, based on the number of years elapsed since the completion date recorded on the provenance record:

Long Standing — 5 years of verified ownership — 5 per cent applied against the labour cost of the next commission.

The Warrant — 10 years of verified ownership — 10 per cent.

The Charter — 15 years of verified ownership — 15 per cent.

The Fellowship — 20 years of verified ownership — 20 per cent (maximum).

Application of Discount

The discount applies to labour costs only. It does not apply to materials billed separately, to third-party costs, to delivery or shipping costs, or to any rush or expedited service fee. It applies to the single commission immediately following each milestone and does not carry forward or accumulate.

Verification

Milestones are verified by provenance number and the completion date shown on the original provenance record, cross-referenced against the Insignis commission ledger. No record, no milestone. Insignis Leathers reserves the right to decline a milestone claim where the record cannot be verified.

Registering a Milestone

To register a milestone, contact studio@insignisleathers.co.uk with your provenance number and the completion date shown on your record. Insignis Leathers will confirm eligibility and apply the discount to the next commission raised.

Data Processing

Participation in the Programme involves Insignis Leathers retaining your name and email address for the purpose of milestone administration. The lawful basis is legitimate interests. Full details of how this data is used, how long it is retained, and how to exercise your rights — including the right to erasure — are set out in the Privacy Policy.Where you exercise your right to erasure, your personal data will be anonymised and the commission record will be retained in anonymised form. An anonymised record is not eligible for future milestone claims.
