Everything you need to know about commissions, materials, lead times, and how Insignis works.
Insignis makes individually crafted leather goods: wallets, card holders, cigar cases, valet trays, desk objects, and bespoke commissions. Every piece is hand-stitched and issued a numbered Provenance Record. Nothing is made in batches for resale.
Insignis is a British studio based in Essex. Commissions are accepted directly, with no retail intermediaries.
Lead times vary by piece and are confirmed at the time of enquiry. As a general guide, most commissions are completed within four to eight weeks from confirmation of scope and receipt of deposit. Workshop capacity is kept intentionally limited, and availability is not guaranteed.
Insignis works primarily with full-grain and top-grain vegetable tanned leathers sourced from established European tanneries. Materials are selected for longevity, grain quality, and how they age. Not for cost or trend. The specific leather used in each commission is documented in the accompanying Provenance Record.
Yes. Insignis accepts corporate gifting commissions for small runs, with personalisation available on request. Each piece carries its own numbered Provenance Record. Further details are available on the Corporate Gifting page.
A Provenance Record is a numbered document issued with every Insignis piece. It records the leather used, the date of completion, and serves as a permanent record of the object's origin. It is intended to travel with the piece for its lifetime.
Use the Enquire Page to submit details of your commission. All enquiries are reviewed on the basis of fit, scope, and current workshop capacity. Insignis will respond within a few working days.
Nothing at Insignis is made in batches for resale. Each piece is made individually, to order, using traditional techniques. A Provenance Record is issued with every piece as a commitment to traceability and craft accountability that few brands offer. Insignis is not a fashion label. The work is measured in years and decades.
